From
Mexico City Airport to Cuernavaca
(La Selva Bus Depot)
After
arriving to Mexico-City airport.
Claim your baggage and pass through the customs area of the airport.
When arriving at Mexico City’s Benito Juárez
International Airport, depending upon the airline you are flying with, you
will be arriving at one of two terminals. Flights on the following
airlines arrive at Terminal 2: Delta Airlines, Aeroméxico, Aeroméxico
Connect, Copa, LAN and Aeromar. All other airlines are serviced by
Terminal 1.
In either case, Pullman de Morelos offers direct luxury
bus service (with departures approximately every ½ hour, with the ride
taking about 1 hour and 45 minutes) from your terminal to Casino de la
Selva, the only Cuernavaca bus station providing service to and from the
airport. The last bus departure from the airport for Cuernavaca is at
11:30PM. (The first bus departure from Cuernavaca to the airport is at
3:15AM.)
From International Terminal 1: purchase bus tickets
on the second floor, through the fast food restaurant area. From
International Terminal 2: bus ticket booth is located outside the terminal
(walk right as you exit customs area).
If you prefer, at either terminal, after picking up
your baggage and leaving Customs, you can simply locate a porter (they
will have luggage carts) as you exit and say: “Pullman de Morelos –
Cuernavaca” and one of them will gladly take you first to the ticket
counter and then on to the area for bus departures for a tip of about 30 –
50 pesos ($3 – 5 USD), depending upon the number of bags you have.
The cost of a one way ticket is 135 pesos (a little
more than $13 USD) – and subject to change. They will accept Visa and
Master Card.
You can always find banks open to change money once you
pass through Customs, and you can count on getting the best exchange rates
there at the airport. You can also use your bank debit card at any ATM
(automated teller machine) to withdraw money in pesos. Remember to advise
your bank before you leave that you will be in Mexico and using your card
there so that they will not regard withdrawals or charges as “suspicious”
and prohibit activity. (The same is true for credit cards; advise your
credit card companies before you leave that you will be using your cards
in Mexico.)
Sit back, relax, enjoy the movie, the view or take a nap. This trip generally
takes about one hour and forty minutes, depending on traffic.

When the bus arrives at the Cuernavaca - La Selva bus
depot
and you exit, give your receipt(s) to the person unloading the
luggage and retrieve your suitcase(s).
Directly in front of you, (do not follow the people heading out to the street on
the right) is the taxi exit. You may purchase an Authorized Taxi ticket at the
counter to the left of this exit.
Make your exit, with ticket in
hand, have your luggage placed in a taxi, and off you go. If no one is at the
the ticket counter, be prepared to pay $30 pesos directly to the driver.
In approximately 10 minutes, you will be at La Nuestra. Show the taxi driver the

Packing:
Pack light.
Check with your airline for current weight and size allowances. Save room, or
consider taking an extra empty suitcase or duffel bag for the purchases of woolen blankets,
sweaters, onyx & ceramic items and of course your Tequila or Kaluha.
Cuernavaca
is a casual atmosphere.
Pack mostly summer or tropical clothing. Bring along a sweater or jacket
for the cool evenings, and of course pack a hat to protect you from the
sun. Take along a folding umbrella for the surprise showers. Include
good walking shoes, sneakers and flip flops. Remember your bathing suit
and sun block. Pack medicines, jewelry and cameras in your carry-on bag.
Bring an extra pair
of
eyeglasses.
Guide
Books: Have
a good guide book and Spanish/English Dictionary. Write down key phrases
on an index card and carry in your wallet.
Medicines:
Local drug stores have a huge inventory with reasonable prices.
Miscellaneous:
Public toilets and some bus toilets do not provide paper. When traveling
by foot or bus, carry tissues with you. Many public toilets
charge 2 pesos; pay it. They will give you toilet paper, and it also
ensures that the toilets are regularly cleaned.
